RETURNING CONCEICAO OUT TO TAKE ANOTHER BIG STEP TOWARDS BECOMING A WORLD CHAMPION
TOKYO OLYMPICS STAR BRINGS ACT TO DENMARK
Highly-touted Brazilian super-middleweight prospect Hebert Conceicao aims to keep his unbeaten run going when he climbs back into the ring on Friday September 1st at the Graakjaer Arena in Holstebro, Denmark.
After an eight-month layoff, the 25–year-old Conceicao (4-0, 2KOs) will see action for the first time since scoring an impressive third-round TKO victory over compatriot Morrama Dheisw de Araujo Santos at Lauro de Freitas, Brazil in December last year.
The Tokyo Olympics middleweight gold medallist is determined to pick up from where he left off as he takes on dangerous Polish foe Robert Talarek (27-21-3, 18KOs) in one of the supporting bouts of a blockbuster fight night co-promoted by Disrupt Promotions and TK Promotion.
Set to fight outside of Brazil for the third time as a pro, Conceicao said: “I’m very excited to be given such a big opportunity of fighting in Denmark. After a long respite, I have another chance to prove my worth and continue my journey towards getting a shot at a world title in the near future.
“I’ve been working my tail off in training since I still have plenty of room for improvement. I cannot afford to be complacent as I am going up against a dangerous opponent who, as what his record suggests, can take advantage of any slight chance given to him. I have to be very careful and very smart in dealing with him.”
Serving as the main event is the titanic “champion versus champion” collision between Danish pride Dina Thorslund and Mexican ace Yuliahn Luna Avila, with the World Boxing Organisation (WBO), World Boxing Council (WBC) and the vacant Ring Magazine women’s bantamweight titles on the line.
Irish super-lightweight Steven Cairns will also showcase his talents together with homegrown stalwarts such as Jacob Bank, Payman Akbari, Nesar Kunduzi, and Mikkel Gribsholt.
